Continue reading to discover eight new things to do in Black Mountain in 2025. Whether you’re lucky enough to call Black Mountain home or you’re visiting for the first time, today is the perfect day to try something new!

1. Take a Photo at the Black Mountain Mural
Perfect for photo ops and selfies, the new Black Mountain mural located off Cherry Street, just north of Sutton Ave, is friendly and adorable. Commissioned by Cherry Street Gallery, which will open later in 2025, it reflects the vibrancy and beauty of the Swannanon Valley.
After you’ve snapped some photos, be sure to visit Sassafras on Sutton. You’re guaranteed to discover your new favorite novel, smell seasonal candles, or find the perfect children’s gift.
2. Enjoy Black Mountain’s Newest Brunch Spot
Opened in 2023, BERADU’s Kitchen and Bar took a new spin in 2025, pivoting to a brunch-themed dining experience. Now you can enjoy breakfast staples like skillets and eggs Benedict, along with delicious daily quiches and my personal favorite – hash brown casserole.
Local’s tip: Need breakfast on the go? BERADU’s build-your-own breakfast sandwiches are a perfect to-go, filling, and locally sourced breakfast option in Black Mountain. In 2025, BERADU’s market also expanded its hours to seven days a week! Now you can shop at their specialty grocery store and enjoy gourmet deli sandwiches any day of the week.

3. Relax at Black Mountain’s Newest Coffee Spot
The Laundry Collective opened in 2024 with home goods and refillery products that will bring you joy every time you use them. In 2025, they expanded their business to include a coffee shop. Their seasonal beverages are delicious, locally inspired, and can be enjoyed in a separate cozy workspace.
Now you can enjoy a delicious beverage while you fill up on your favorites! My personal favorite product? The lavender vanilla shampoo and conditioner. Additionally, The Laundry Collective now hosts workshops, like pottery and jewelry-making classes.
4. Sample Black Mountain’s Newest Restaurants
Late 2025 welcomed two new restaurants to Black Mountain. As someone who enjoys trying new things, these could be great options if you live in Black Mountain or visit regularly.
- Tuscan Table: A quaint spot on the vibrant corner of Cherry and State Street. Offering up beloved Italian dishes in the traditional Italian style.
- Trillium Table: Located inside the historic Red Rocker Inn, this dining experience offers local ingredients in farm-to-table dishes. The Executive Chef and Owner hails from popular Asheville locations, including The Biltmore and Luminosa.

5. Explore Three New Black Mountain Food Trucks
In 2025, Black Mountain welcomed three new food trucks to the area, and my taste buds couldn’t be more excited. Here are three Black Mountain food trucks to experience during your next date night, hangry moment, or visit.
- Abbiocco Pizzeria: Famous for its authentic charred pizza crusts and seasonal flavors, Abbiocco Pizzeria serves up some of the best pies in Western North Carolina. You can visit their permanent food truck at Peri Social House. Local’s tip: Order early as they routinely sell out of their delicious pies.
- Che Fai Black Mountain: Enjoy fresh Italian cuisine with a variety of menu options, including a daily special, lasagna, and shareable Italian fries. My personal favorite? The delectable bolognese with zoodles. And the best part? Che Fai is open late – until 12 a.m. Thursday-Monday. Experience this gem in their permanent space outside of the Old Town District.
- Mehfil Indian Food Truck: Known for their authentic Indian cuisine, Mehfil’s popular dishes at their downtown Asheville location are also available on the move! Enjoy their pop-up food truck experience at Lookout Brewery on most Monday nights from 3:30-8 p.m. The perfect dinner option after a busy weekend.
6. Visit Old Town District for Drinks
In the space formally known as the WNC Collective, Old Town District is the perfect spot to grab a pint, meet with friends, or play trivia on Monday nights.
They still have the beautiful outdoor courtyard and have added a fire pit for the cooler nights. The indoor bar space has now been transformed into a cozy lounge, complete with a full bar serving your favorite cocktails or a glass of wine, and a TV to watch your favorite team.

7. Enjoy Date Night with a Rooftop View
When Hell or High Water Restaurant & Bar opened in late 2024, Black Mountain welcomed a new date night option and beautiful rooftop patio views. From the owners of Foothills Grange, the seasonal menu features comfort foods made with locally sourced ingredients.
Portion sizes are on the smaller side, encouraging sharing and sampling a variety of dishes. Local’s tip: Make a reservation for their rooftop patio or stop by for sunset apps and cocktails.
8. Shop at the North Carolina Glass Center: Black Mountain Studio
In 2025, the North Carolina Glass Center completed a milestone project by opening its Black Mountain Studio in a historic storefront on State Street. This new studio is an expansion of their popular River Arts District location in Asheville.
The new Black Mountain studio features a gallery with one-of-a-kind glass pieces, public access to a glass studio with hourly rates, and hands-on classes.
